Mac Workstation In the Field? MacBook Pro Now Takes 16GB Memory
Until today, the choice has been relatively clear between an Apple Mac Pro and MacBook Pro: the MBP was limited to 8GB memory and slow disk I/O, and until recently, 2 CPU cores.
Today, OWC announced a 16GB memory upgrade kit for the 2011 MacBook Pro.
Together with a quad-core CPU that runs at Mac Pro speeds, and Thunderbolt disk I/O, photographers looking for a single system for home and in the field now have a never-before-possible option with the 2011 Apple MacBook Pro (see my in-depth review). Do it yourself, or get it all setup as an MPG Pro Laptop.
