Database Update (Username/Password)
Some (not all) subscribers today were sent an email detailing their login credentials late Sunday April 16. This was sent as part of a database update, and was sent regardless of whether subscriptions are current or not.
Changes were made to username and/or passwords as follows:
- Shorter and/or simpler usernames (for easier entry on iPad/iPhone/etc).
- Elimination of awkward characters from usernames.
- In some cases, slightly modified passwords.
As always, any subscriber can request a custom username and/or password.
Updating your email
The subscriber email address is for subscriber contact for subscriptions only. It is not used for login purposes, and it separate from the 100% opt-in mailing list.
Since subscribers have not maintained a current email, this update would thus not be received. Contact me with your current email if you are affected; be sure to include the prior email and username for your account.
Spam filters can block email of course, and various mail services aggressively block emails (Earthlink.com is awful in this regard).
Updating a saved password
If your username and/or password has changed and you have set your browser to remember your credentials, here is how to reset a web site password in Safari.
