Nikon Coolpix A Sensor
Operationally, the Nikon Coolpix A sometimes make me tear my hair out. But the sensor is fabulous (and has no anti-aliasing filter). Very sharp, gorgeous color. Wow.
The lens—well it’s excellent centrally, but disappointing at the edges and corners for any planar subject, at least at close range, meaning it’s still sharp in the corners but not necessarily in a flat field.
No saturation added; these tulips are the real deal.
This image is in the ProPhotoRGB color space. It will look lousy if viewed without out a colorspace-aware web browser (or iPhone or iPad), but the colors are flattened in a bad way when converted to sRGB or AdobeRGB.
