I’m back from my trip, which was a mishmash of photography and some cycling (two double centuries).

I got down to Joshua Tree National Park, but with ferocious winds and dust devils followed by a rain squall Friday night, an all-day Saturday ride, and the drive home Sunday, it remains on my “to do” list as far as photography. I’m not a fan of JTNP; there is nowhere to legally stay overnight if the campgrounds fill up (as they were)—not even the dirt roads way off the beaten path—prohibited even to sleep in one’s car (as I my wont). In Death Valley, there are all sorts of very nice and photogenic places to camp overnight (or sleep in my SUV).
