Recommended Picture Control Settings for Live View Focusing

Your author spent some time with various combinations of settings to arrive at what seemed to be the most helpful and decisive sharpness and contrast for accurate magnified Live View focusing.

These picture control are optimized for Live View focusing clarity for raw shooters. They are not intended for JPEG shooters, because the Picture Control settings are baked into JPEGs.

Dowloading and using

  1. Download NIKON.zip. Unzip it, resulting in folder NIKON. The contents should look like the folder shown below.
  2. Copy the NIKON folder to the top level of your camera storage card, as shown below.
  3. Load the desired Picture Control into the camera (next step).
