Sigma 50/1.4A vs Nikon 50/1.4G, 50/1.8G (Nikon D810, Decorated Bike)

Shot on the 36-megapixel Nikon D810.

This multi-lens comparison evaluates the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM A in Nikon F mount against Nikon’s two mainstream 50mm lenses: the 50/1.4G and the 50/1.8G. The Nikon offerings are typical of Nikon offerings meaning they are good performers stopped down 2-3 stops and unexciting at wider apertures.

The comparison is similar to the one comparing the Sigma 50/1.4 DG HSM A in Canon EF mount to the Canon 50mm lenses. The Nikon D810 has a higher resolution sensor also of a much more recent design than the Canon 5D Mark III.
