Linking to a specific blog item
The diglloyd.com blog URL always points to the current month’s blog; the actual page changes each and every month.
Always link to a specific month, not blog.html. To do so, click on the current month name to rewrite the browser’s URL. For example, to link to April 2008, click on “Apr” as shown below:
Click on the current month to rewrite the URL to a permanent one
After clicking on “Apr” above, the URL changes to a permanent page eg “2008-04-blog.html:
Now the URL has a fixed month—it won’t change
Next, click on any of the links under “Permalinks” to attach the reference to a particular entry. For example, to link to “Nikon 70-200VR on D3”, click on it:
Click on an permalink to include that particular entry
For example, clicking on the “Nikon 70-200VR on D3” produces this result:
This is the URL you should use for a permanent link; it will take the reader directly to that entry.
