The 2013 Mac Pro has no trouble driving both the PA322UHD and a PA301W. No adjustments had to be made: connect the cable, boot up, job done, no issues whatsoever.
Various aspects of OS X are erroneous and this is not unique to the PA322UHD. For example,when the display scaling is set to 1920 X 1080, the System Profile shows that resolution instead of its true 3840 X 2160 resolution. Regardless, the display is of course 3840 X 2160, and it syncs up at 60 Hz at that resolution.
OSD (On Screen Display) Locking
Your author inadvertently locked the screen controls while changing the language to Japanese. Here’s how to unlock things.
There are three types of OSD LOCK OUT:
1) OSD LOCK OUT with no control: To activate the OSD Lock Out function, press SELECT, then “RIGHT” button and hold down simultaneously. To deactivate the OSD Lock Out, press SELECT, then “RIGHT” button and hold down simultaneously while in the OSD menu. No controls can be adjusted while in the lock out mode.
2) OSD LOCK OUT with BRIGHTNESS and VOLUME control: To activate the OSD Lock Out function, press SELECT, then “DOWN” and “LEFT” buttons and hold down simultaneously. To deactivate the OSD Lock Out, press SELECT, then “DOWN” and “LEFT” buttons and hold down simultaneously while in the OSD menu. BRIGHTNESS and VOLUME can be adjusted while in this lock out mode.
3) CUSTOM: Refer to the Advanced OSD Menu (not your situation)
