Leica M240
Zeiss ZM 35mm f/1.4 Distagon

Examples at ƒ/1.4 in Eastern Sierra and White Mountains (M240)

Shot on the 24-megapixel Leica M Typ 240. No camera lens correction / lens coding.

These field examples are all at f/1.4 unless otherwise noted. Because the M240 is limited to 1/4000 second, a polarizer was kept on the lens in some venues as a ~1.5 stop ND filter, hence some of the images used a polarizer (and some did not).

The Leica M Typ 240 lens correction feature was NOT used in any way for these examples. Hence what is shown here is native lens performance with no camera correction for vignetting and color shading, as the M240 would do automatically for coded M lenses. Yet the results look terrific wide open and stopped down, with only a faint trace of color shading to the corners which is actually better than the correct results with many wide angle M lenses.
