Aperture Series: Distant Hills (Patriarch Grove)
Here is shown the Olympus Zuiko 75mm f/1.8 ED on the Olympus OM-D E-M5.
This series is at infinity focus, focused once for all apertures. Autofocus was used, and there can be no guarantee that focus was perfectly accurate, but it is difficult to be any more precise with manual focus (in my experience), so this result has to hold anyway, as what one would experience in real world usage.
Entire frame
A modest amount of contrast was added (Photoshop Levels).
At f/2, the Zuiko 75/1.8 disappoints, with low contrast and clear limits to image detail. While the central 1/2 area of the frame is decent, outside that area definition declines, with the edges and corners showing only modest levels of detail. Micro contrast and sharpness at f/1.8 - f/2 are well below the levels seen at f/2.8 - f/4.
