Rokinon FE 12mm f/2.8 ED AS IF NCS UMC Fisheye
(DSLR version, Sony E-mount has a much longer barrel)

Overview of Rokinon 12mm f/2.8 Fisheye

The about $499 Rokinon FE 12mm f/2.8 fisheye is a DSLR design installed in a Sony E-mount mirrorless. The lens is completely manual and communicates no EXIF info or aperture to the camera.

Rokinon has aggressively released lenses for Sony mirrorless that are really DSLR optical designs. This is done by extending the lens barrel, essentially an extension tube taking up the gap that the mirror box on a DSLR would occupy. For the 12mm f/2.8 fisheye this results in a reasonably proportioned and balanced lens, but it’s rather awkward and front heavy with Rokinon 35mm f/1.4.
