Adobe Camera Raw: no choice with lens profile

Automatic Correction for Lateral Chromatic Aberration in Adobe Camera Raw

This information as of 2015-05-26 using Sony firmware v1.2 on the Sony A7R.

With Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras (A7R, A7, A7 II, A7s), Adobe Camera Raw that insists upon correcting lateral chromatic aberration (LACA); the user has no choice in the matter; clicking Built-in lens profile applied... only displays a trivial dialog which offers no control. This behavior occurs even if all corrections are disabled in the camera.

Hence any lens assessment of the native red/cyan color fringing (LACA) behavior must use some other raw converter. Many camera vendors have now adopted the strategy of relying on software to correct optical shortcomings, and Adobe seems intent on enforcing it in ACR. This behavior applies similarly in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
