Aperture Series and Bokeh at f/2, 4, 8, 16 (Forest)

This pages shows the same image taken at f/2, f/4, f/8, f/16; four frames, with each frame doubling the depth of field of previous frame.

This demonstrates the effects achievable at each aperture, and shows why shooting at f/2, might be your best choice with some subjects, in order to isolate the subject. It also shows how pleasing the 200/2L IS remains when stopped down.

Aperture series

Already at f/4, the subject competes with a distracting background.
