Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS + EF Extender III 2X
This page shows how the 2X extender performs with the Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS USM. With the 2X Extender, the 300/2.8 becomes a 600mm f/5.6.

Live View with Mode 2 was used for zero vibration, along with contrast-detect autofocus. I also shot 4 series. There was some slight variation; I chose the best one, which had a marginally better center than the others, and slightly less better right side than one (due to the same asymmetry as seen with the 1.4X converter and the 70-200 zooms).
