Sony A7R II + Novoflex adapter
Coastal Optics
60mm f/4 UV-VIS-IR APO macro

Aperture Series: Shimano Drive Train (Sony A7R II)

The Coastal 60/4 offers perfect correction of primary and secondary color while also offering a high MTF performance to the corners by f/8. Here the 60/4 is evaluated on the 42-megapixel Sony A7R II.

Two goals are intended here:

The Coastal Optics 60mm f/4 UV-VIS-IR APO Macro is a Nikon F-mount lens with manual aperture ring, and thus be adapted to the Sony mount using the Novoflex Adapter for Nikon Lens to Sony NEX Camera or other brand (Novoflex highly recommended). The lens is lightweight enough that the ASTAT tripod collar was not used; the camera was supported on its base (best choice if lens weight does not stress the mount), using the Really Right Stuff L-bracket.
