Version 9.1.2 of PTGUI Pro now has an “Align to Grid” for stitching Panos from motorized heads. I was wondering if you planned on re-testing with your Panoramas from the Gigapan Epic Pro review. I am interested in seeing if it works on these types of images.

DIGLLOYD: at the moment I am overloaded. I might return to this question when things lighten up.

The issue

I much prefer PTGui Pro for its performance, but PTGui Pro cannot match frames of blue sky (and many other frames), and has no concept (that I know of) of telling it that the panorama consists of N rows X M columns and “just do that”.

PTGui Pro has great difficulty with blue sky and similar detail-free frames
“a few” turned out to be a gross under-exaggeration
