Introduction to Nikon 20mm f/1.8G
The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 20mm f/1.8G (about $797) is a fast high performance extreme ultrawide Its two ED lens elements and two aspheric lens elements and 13-element design suggest a high level of optical correction.
Nikon has made several manual focus 20mm lenses including a 20mm f/3.5 which is light year’s short of the performance of the 20/1.8G. The older 20/2.8D AF-Nikkor and 20/2.8 AIS remain available as of 2015, but offer nowhere near the performance, suffering from much more aberration at wider apertures, and less consistent performance across the frame, and much more color fringing.
