Autofocus — Introduction

My May 2010 survey shows confirms that autofocus inaccuracy with the 24mm f/1.4G is problematic at best, at least for distances 10 feet or more out. See the survey results.

Camera not the issue

The camera model seems not to be at issue. Rather, there seems to be some fundamental issue involved which is highly sensitive to the particular subject matter.

Tests that follow were with the Nikon D3s and Nikon D3x, Nikon’s two top-line cameras as of May 2010.
