Nikon AF-S 28mm f/1.8G

Examples (Adhoc Backyard Shots)

I like shooting at dusk. These examples were taken one quiet summer evening using the Nikon D800E, and intentionally left unadjusted (no contrast or tweaks) to show what one can expect out of the 28mm f/1.8G. Obviously some images can be changed significantly with the addition of contrast, for a different effect.

The 28/1.8G offers very pleasing blur qualities with moderate contrast wide open; it’s a personality well suited to expressive shooting of any kind, including portraits. While its micro contrast appears to be lower than the excellent Zeiss 28mm f/2 Distagon, it has a look of its own that is different enough that connoisseurs of 28mm will find make it worth owning both lenses.
