Nikon Capture NX 2.2.6 beta at Standard. All noise reduction off, all lens corrections OFF. Post processing in Photoshop typically Smart Sharpen {100, 0.2, 0} and sometimes a small amount of saturation.

Detail visible in these images could be improved by deconvolution sharpening, the how-to being described in Making Sharp Images. I have chosen to process in NX2 for reasons of color rendition, but the finest detail is not made evident by the crude sharpening algorithms in NX2.
