APO.chromatic: Sigma 180 and 150 + Leica 180/2.8, Voigtlander 180/4 + Nikon 70-200/2.8 VRII

Five lenses compared on the 36-megapixel Nikon D800E of which four are designated as APO.

In production as of 2013 are the two Sigma APO macro lenses and the Nikon 70-200/2.8G ED VR II, with the Leica 180/2.8 APO and Voigtlander 180/4 APO available on the used market.

A high performing apochromatic lens should eliminate both longitudinal chromatic aberration (LOCA) and lateral chromatic aberration (LCA), and as related effects, it should also minimize secondary longitudinal chromatic aberration, spherical aberration and spherochromaticism.
