Bokeh is excellent, subjectively on par with the Canon 50mm f/1.2L (but different). By comparison, the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 has quite harsh-edged bokeh at f/1.4, similar to the Zeiss ZF/ZE 50/1.4 Planar.
