Overview of Leica Q

A huge range of users (particularly eyeglass wearers or older users) who could never focus an M camera accurately now have a Leica full-frame autofocus option at their disposal. The Leica Q is sleek and beautiful and functional in many ways.

The Leica Q is a special purpose tool, but not too special-purpose, and thus is likely to be well-loved by those users whose purposes it serves. See Perspective and Applicability of the Leica Q for additional perspective.

For M shooters, a hope arises: the Leica Q might be the way for Leica to perfect their autofocus chops, with a view to bringing autofocus to an interchangeable-lens M body that is compatible with older manual-focus M lenses and some new line of autofocus M lenses.
