Infrared sensitive? (M9 CCD)

The M9 is not responsive to true infrared, though it does have a tendency to a magenta cast with some fabrics, as these pictures show. Be sure to read the comments that follow the images.

While I can see a trace of purple in the pack in real life, and the D3x faithfully records what I see, the Leica M9 renders the gray pack with a strong magenta cast.

To determine if the effect is due to infrared, the second image uses a B+W 489 infrared blocking filter, which can be seen to make no difference. However, the spectral cutoff of the B+W 489 is gradual, and this magenta cast could still be due to near infrared (650nm -750nm). The D3x has garnered kudos for its color accuracy, and it matches what I see by my own eyes (third shot below).
