Sony A7R
Leica 18mm f/3.8 Super-Elmar-M ASPH

Aperture Series: Moots FrosTi (Sony A7)

The Sony A7 is a 24-megapixel mirrorless camera with a full-frame sensor. Unlike its 36MP Sony A7R sibling, it does not incorporate micro lenses onto the sensor, and thus the ray angle issues that lead to color shading and excessive vignetting and loss of off-center sharpness can be expected to worsen even though sensor resolution is less demanding.

Major quality loses can be seen even at reduced size. This is the effect of ray angle cutting through too-thick sensor glass.
