Aperture Series: Tuolumne River (M240)

June 2013 50/2 APO, which suffered from poor flare control.

This area near Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park is really attractive at dusk. Away from the comfort of one’s air-conditioned or heated car by the distressing distance of 60 meters or so, hardly anyone intrudes here, since better images can be made by rolling down the window, or from the pullout. That is the state of affairs, and it might well be a Good Thing.

A choice was made here to preserve some of the bluish character of the lighting, because even the eye sees it this way when high mountain skylight predominates.

A Levels layer in Photoshop was used to increase the contrast (brighten the whites) here, the blue late-day light is quite flat.
