This example points out one “trick” of the vignetting: very bright areas towards and at the periphery are 2-3 stops darker. The f/0.95 image has a full 1.5 stops more exposure value in making the image. Making use of the vignetting this way can keep the image quality higher by not underexposing and generating noise. It can also balance out otherwise difficult contrasts.
