The Zeiss ZM 21mm f/4.5 C-Biogon (about $1200) is a lovely lens: high performance, compact size and lightweight.

I really enjoyed shooting it back in 2009 on the Leica M9 digital, but from the start I noticed a reddish discoloration at the edge of each frame. Later I discovered the reason for the color shading : the ray angles from some wide angle optical designs (determined by the exit pupil) are simply too extreme to be handled. Indeed, color shading makes the lens all but unusable on Leica M digital cameras, except the Leica M10 Monochrom and similar.
