Correcting Lateral Chromatic Aberration During RAW Conversion

Several RAW-file converters correct lateral chromatic aberration, but many do not.

Nikon Capture NX2 has a superb feature for correcting for lateral chromatic aberration— superb because it’s a single checkbox, but also because it’s smart enough to handle any lens, even a shift lens that has been shifted!

Some Nikon DSLRs have built-in correction of lateral chromatic aberration for JPEGs, something only Nikon offers (as of May 2010).

To correct LCA, simply check the Auto Lateral Color Aberration box, and Nikon Capture NX2 does the rest.
