Carl Zeiss ZF.2 15mm f/2.8 Distagon T*

Depth of Field Aperture Series (Mossy Log Over Creek)

This aperture series from f/2.8 to f/16 was taken at very close range (perhaps 20 inches focus).

The goal here is to demonstrated convincingly just how little depth of field is with a 15mm lens when focused closely, and to provide a sense of the cohesive visual impact of the images made at the varying apertures in terms of sharpness, vignetting, depth of field and bokeh.

It is worth studying especially apertures f/2.8, f/4 and f/5.6 for their differences in terms of both vignetting and depth of field (use the A/B Comparison mode). The visual impact is not the same, and that is only partially because of depth of field.
