Examples ZE/Canon Night Shots
These images were taken with the Zeiss ZE 18/3.5 Distagon, the native-for-Canon EOS mount version announced on Sept 14, 2009. Lens provided by Zeiss USA for testing.

Night shooting poses a special challenge: some lenses disappoint under lighting that includes deep shadows, especially with some extreme colors, including blue and yellows. The Zeiss lens coatings offer outstanding performance under such conditions. Judge for yourself.

The ZE 18/3.5 Distagon is great fun to shoot at night. Color are pure and saturated, and handles extreme highlight and shadows with aplomb. In this scene, only the faintest ghost from the ultra bright light can be seen, to the right and slightly down against the purple sky.
