Aspen trunk [Nikon D3x] 1.3X Crop Sensor
I shot this tree because of the striking pattern, and so I’ve rendered it as black and white; color is a distraction. This is a trivial grayscale conversion in Photoshop, followed by PercepTool to improved the contrast. Total effort: about a minute, just my speed.
