Zeiss ZF.2 25mm f/2.8 Distagon T*

Examples In Lundy Canyon, Eastern Sierra

These examples shot in the Lundy Canyon, just north of Lee Vining, CA. October 2011.

The images on this page are presented in time sequence; they were all taken in haste as dusk was falling, with perhaps 30 minutes of shooting time. All images were shot at f/2.8 in available light.

These images are technically flawed: I shot them handheld at low shutter speeds wide open, as I am wont to do at dusk. They are grainy (noisy), having been pushed during RAW conversion (exposure compensation). Setting aside the technical limitations, the images reflect the late-day dusk feel, with its dim lighting and saturated color, and quiet mood. The 25/2.8 Distagon delivered just the type of image rendition that I feel fit the place that day.

Some images presented in AdobeRGB colorspace. Be sure to view these images with a colorspace-aware browser like current versions of Apple Safari or Firefox, not Internet Explorer or Opera, etc.
