Zeiss ZF.2 25mm f/2 Distagon T*

Aperture Series: Big Leaf Maple

This aperture series is at a distance not too far from infinity focus, which is presumably the distance for which the 25/2 Distagon has been optimized.

Example — Big Leaf Maple among conifers

This image take deep in a canyon in the San Francisco Bay Area— very blue and dull light, using the 21MP Canon 5D Mark II, and Live View with a remote release.

Important: even with a 25mm lens, there remains a depth of field issue at far greater distances than one might assume, a gentle softness (e.g., 50 feet vs 30 feet). When viewing the crops, do not assume that less than sharp areas are a soft lens just because of distance. Field curvature and exact point of focus could easily favor things a bit differently with another try at the same scene. See Making Sharp Images.
