The Otus 85mm f/1.4 APO-Planar controls aberrations every type of aberration tightly as well as having minimal field curvature. That strict aberration control lends itself to selective focus applications that simply do not work with many fast lenses.
As an example of a lens that overlays its own “issues” on the photographic intent, the Leica 50mm f/0.95 Noctilux-M ASPH not only has pronounced aberrations at f/1.4 (and low contrast) but also a strongly-arced rearward field curvature that results in a distracting emphasis at the edges and corners well behind a point of interest at center (see Field Curvature: 50/0.95 Noctilux-M ASPH in Guide to Leica). It is not in the same league as the Otus in any regard.
