Zeiss UV Filter
Graphs are in nanometers. Visible light is approximately 390 - 650 nm (the human eye can see very weakly into the 700-800nm range). Graphs used by permission.
A great source for filters at competitive prices is B&H Photo, which has an extensive selection of brands and types and sizes.
The Zeiss UV filters were introduced in late 2011.
For colors as rich as in nature
Crystal clear: the UV filters featuring the T* anti-reflective coating from Carl Zeiss provide optimal protection for the front element of your lens. They also ensure absolute brilliance without altering the color rendition or exposure time.
- Quality — High-quality glass featuring Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating
- Flexibility — High-fit accuracy for fast filter change. Can be used with a lens shade
- Compatibility — Ideal for ZEISS lenses. Can be used with non-ZEISS lenses
- Effect — Optimal protection of the front lens element and more clarity for your photograph
This is what I want to see in a UV or clear filter: a sharp cut from near-UV to indigo, and transmission close to 100% out to 650nm.
However, note that the Zeiss UV filter cuts out long-wave UV and the very deepest indigo. This is probably by design. Compare to the B+W 010, which passes more indigo.
