Pearstone Pro Camcorder Case With Wheels
The Pearstone Pro Camcorder Case With Wheels is designed to carry a large camcorder along with its lenses and accessories.
However, the bag piqued my interest because of the form factor and the ease of access, along with the pull handle. You see, I often travel with a dozen or more lenses, and while photo backpacks can hold them, the form factor doesn’t fit all that well as luggage into my SUV (the straps protrude and I never actually carry my LowePro photo backpack on my back; it just acts as a case to protect the lenses).
So I took one look at the Pearstone Pro Camcorder Case and I realized that having ample space in a form factor that would pack up into a neat rectangle, one that I could rearrange it vertically in my relatively cramped SUV while traveling for 3-10 days at a time, well that might be handy. The fact that I can stand it vertically means that it makes efficient use of interior space in the rear of my vehicle.
The one concern is that the lens divider panels are not full height, so if the case is stood-up vertically, lenses could slosh down over the edge of a divider. I resolved this by repositioning the dividers higher by about an inch. This works just fine for lenses as long as you don’t turn the case upside down or too far forward. At any rate, I like to pad my lenses inside neoprene cases for a quick toss into my North Face 'Recon' daypack.
Blazingly fast USB-C SSD!
Up to 2TB capacity, USB-C compatible with Thunderbolt 3.
Short of some months of use, it is hard to be certain of longevity or build quality, but the case seems sturdy and reasonably well built.
In the field
To be seen— next trip. In the meantime, my drawer space is getting full, and I might press this pack into service as a drawer for lenses!
