Just published in my Guide to Zeiss ZF / ZE Lenses is my first comparison of the Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Distagon to the Zeiss 35mm f/2 Distagon and Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L.

Update: several readers have already written with the implicit assumption that this particular test somehow is the final story on the 35/1.4 Distagon, whereas it’s only the first piece of many that I plan to show. I urge readers to wait for more material showing a range of lens behavior before rushing to conclusions. In particular, bokeh is a key quality with real images, and this particular comparison is not about bokeh at all.
