Nikon D800 Examples (Church Interior)
See prior entries also.
Just published are a new series of images with the D800 from the interior of a church.
Color, detail, dynamic range, the D800 sets a new standard in DSLR image quality, and I’d wager that it is making the medium format vendors nervous. And the D800E will notch it up a bit more, playing on the same turf (no anti-aliasing filter).
It‘s not that the D800 can equal medium format at its best, it’s that it’s close enough for many purposes, and quite possibly better in some ways.
How to extract the sensor quality? Use the best lenses, and impeccable technique.
For those inquiring, there is ample detail in the infant’s head and hair; the crop below is from the overall exposure I chose to use. Ample dynamic range, ample headroom.
