Fuji X-Pro1 with Fuji 35/1.4

I shot the Fuji X-Pro1 today. I liked the way it handled, but don’t expect too much of the autofocus system, and the rear LCD is a washed-out low contrast ugly thing. But it was quite enjoyable shooting it, and I love having an aperture ring an a shutter speed dial. Feels like a real camera.

Images coming, assuming I can process the RAW files somehow— “RAW FILE CONVERTER EX powered by SILKYPIX.app” is a heinous amalgam of cruft. I tried it again and it gave me a headache in 1 minute. Non-starter. Is Fuji serious about this market? Dump the proprietary format and write DNG files.

The 35/1.4 looks gorgeous in the EVF at f/1.4, but the images will tell the story.

The idiotic tripod socket location means I have to take the tripod plate off to get out the SDHC storage card or battery, which means an allen wrench had better be around, you’re in deep scat if you forget one in the field and you want to download your cards.
