Leica X2: ISO Series with DNG (RAW) vs JPEG
Just published in DAP are my ISO noise series for RAW (DNG) vs JPEG Super Fine. I include two levels of sharpening the RAW files (Amount=0 and Amount=95) in comparison to the JPEG Super Fine results.
One user asked why the Leica X2 is not in Guide to Leica. Well that’s because Guide to Leica is reserved for professional-grade gear: the M9, M Monochrom, S2, and lenses for them. Guide to Leica won’t contain the X1, X2 or the various low-grade point and shoot Leicas with fixed lenses; these are a very different audience with far shorter lifespans and significance. I don’t see the Leica X2 as materially different (from a review/longevity point of view) from the Fuji X100 or X-Pro1 or Sony NEX-7 or whatever. Such things go into DAP.
