“Know your gear”. Especially on the D800 / D800E.

To DAP, I’ve added a study showing focus shift with the Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4G. The study includes a 1/2 stop aperture series from f/1.4 - f/16.

The Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4G has some serious sharpness issues as a practical matter, especially in the f/4 - f/5.6 range. The 85/1.4G is crispy sharp, just in the wrong place (due to focus shift).
