Fujifilm X-E1 Kit (I made the investment, due to huge discounts on lenses)
At 33% to 50% off the lens prices and a total of $1300 in savings, I made the business decision to invest in the Fujifilm X platform for my Guide to Mirrorless.
Investment made in part on the assumption that Fujifilm will deliver a higher resolution camera body at some point, maybe as early as this year.
I intend to explore and assess the lens performance of all the lenses in the kit over the next few months, particularly the 14mm and 60mm, as well as the Zeiss Touit lenses for Fujifilm X.
The promise of an APS-C sensor seems lacking in full-frame context of fast lenses: where is the 50mm f/1.0 (any brand)? Since in depth of field terms, f/1.0 is equivalent to f/1.4 on a full-frame camera. The potential is there, but that potential so far the APS-C mirrorless segment goes unrealized. Until that potential is met, this segment remains a 2nd tier choice for professional use (in general).
