One of my goals for my upcoming trip to the mountains is to put the Zeiss 135mm f/2 APO-Sonnar to use as a landscape lens, where I expect it to be a superlative performer.
As its MTF chart shows and real-world images confirm, its performance qualifies it as perhaps the best lens available today for Canon or Nikon. Available for about $2122, mandatory for anyone who wants the very best DSLR optics.
The downside (or upside depending on usage): manual focus. So on that basis it’s not for everyone .
Holy cow. These are measured results, not fantasy graphs as from most vendors.
