Leica M Typ 240: White Balance and Tint in Sunlight
Default settings in Adobe Camera Raw and camera auto white balance were not producing satisfactory color rendition with the Leica M Typ 240, so I investigated neutral white balance and tint under mid-day sunlight using a gray card and also a Macbeth color checker card (together).
Findings are in Leica M Typ 240 White Balance and Tint in Sunlight, in Guide to Leica and should prove useful for any camera, at least in terms of the approach and some additional advice for avoiding gotchas.
Using this result produces the color results in the image below, this image being inherently ambiguous (white balance for shade or sunlight or something in-between?).
