The Sony A7R II + Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2 Distagon is just such an easy-going combo, as I noted yesterday: jump out of the car, autofocus, jump back in (to avoid the heavy rain). Even with manual focus, the EVF makes it far simpler than trying to focus a Zeiss manual focus lens on a DSLR using a viewing loupe on the rear LCD. The right tool for the job.
As with life, who knows what the day will bring? After rain comes sun, and this go-round, it looks like season-closing and road-blocking snow on most of the Sierra passes. So I am thrilled I got the last chance of the season for approachable snow and wonderful sun.
