Hasselblad X1D-50C: Delayed 2+ Months
See my Hasselblad X1D-50C wish list at B&H Photo.
If you order the X1D, please use my link so I get credit. B&H is loaning me the X1D, and so readers ordering through my links are important.

The mythical Hasselblad X1D: at first, it was to ship mid-September. Then it was end of September. Now it is “beginning of November”. That’s a total of at least 10 weeks (probably 12) later than promised. Sure makes me nervous to think about buying (or even testing) something so unstable in its development that plans are off by an entire quarter (and maybe longer).
It is unacceptable for Hasselblad to shine people on like this. Who the heck do they think they are, Leica? The company might consider a minor change in company moniker: “Hassleblad”.
I was actually planning to shoot the X1D on this trip (I’m up in the White Mountains). Yes, I expected to get the first one to arrive at B&H Photo. Ha ha, the joke is on me. Fortunately I brought along some other gear, though nothing nearly as exciting as medium format digital.
Fujifilm has wisely not promised anything more than a vague availability date for the Fujifilm GFX. But the way things are going, maybe Fujifilm will beat these jokers at Hasselblad to market.
This whole “announce and ship someday” stuff is very, very bad judgment.
