Get the new Zeiss Loxia 85mm f/2.4 Sonnar at B&H Photo.
The Zeiss Loxia 85mm f/2.4 is put to the test in extremely blue light with fine ice crystals on a scene in which edge to edge sharpness is critical for rendering the frost crystals.
Blue light is particularly difficult for a lens as it is usually the least well corrected portion of the spectrum (although most digital sensors have a cut filter around 420nm, which wreck the violets but reduces violet halos).
Includes images up to 28 megapixels and large crops, from f/2.4 through f/13 for all.
The temperature dropped 30°F from the day before as a powerful front with very high winds blew in overnight, albeit a weather front not containing much moisture. This morning shot show a single night’s freeze on what had no ice the day before.
About 90% of the trout in a series of beaver dam ponds disappeared after a series of breaches in several dams like this one. A beaver is in the large pond just below these dams, but has not yet repaired any damage.
