Zeiss Milvus 25mm f/1.4 Examples: Yosemite High Country (Nikon D850)

Get Zeiss Milvus 25mm f/1.4 at B&H Photo.

Many of these examples use focus stacking (Zerene Stacker) to deliver far more detail than is otherwise possible, even at f/11. Focus stacking is the only method by which adequate depth of field can be obtained in such scenes (while retaining strong contrast), f/11 being inadequate and f/16 far too damaging to contrast at all levels, from diffraction.

The Zeiss Milvus 25mm f/1.4 is ideally suited to focus stacking, with outstanding control of color aberrations, an f/1.4 aperture to nail the focus where desired for precision stacking, and a low level of breathing (change in focal length with focusing). Its 24mm focal length at f/9 - f/11 means that many scenes require only two frames for stacking.
