Update 12 April: I’m giving myself until Monday or Tuesday to try 4-5 hours of computer work. I was able to tolerate two hours or so yesterday, so I’m hoping next week I can resume half a day of work or so each day.
Yesterday I had a major breakthrough in my recovery from my mild* traumatic brain injury (mTBI aka concussion). I share a very personal view of what occurred, and I hope it might prove inspiring to at least a few people who read it. I think I will leave it unmodified as I wrote it last night, even if I find weaknesses, as I see it as a reference point.
I wrote it for myself most of all, but if it gives hope or ideas to even a handful of people, that will be satisfying.
Does this mean I am fully healed? No, definitely not. Just as a broken bone can be functional in a few weeks, it takes a year to fully regain its strength. I expect no less with a brain injury. I believe the concussion has rewired my brain in some positive ways. See what you think.
The entire writeup is multiple pages:
* The word “mild” is of course wildly inapplicable to how a moderately severe concussion proceeds, but it is to be taken in context versus major losses of functioning.
